Looking at the linked reference it is a higher form of ethanol not just raw ethanol.

Well we pulled the trigger today and are picking up a 2023 Mazda CX50 tomorrow. No dealer markup, but no discount from MSRP either. Second time I have paid MSRP in my life, the first was 1999 when we bought a new sports car called a S2000. I think you are all familiar with that one.
I saw my ex-husband at our grandson's one year-old birthday celebration this afternoon. He finally sold my first S2000. It was a 2001 Silverstone. He kept it when we divorced in 2007 and I kept the 2005 Suzuka Blue S, that I sold after I bought my used 2007 Laguna Blue S.
The buyer lives in Michigan and teaches math and physics and he flew to Denver and drove the S2000 back to Michigan. I wanted my record book back but my ex said no. The buyer was thrilled to get it since he seems to nuts about data like I am, with my mathematical Physics BS. At least it now belongs to a person who values it.
Oh, I forgot the mileage but I think it was around 140,000 miles. He sold it with the OEM hardtop, a new soft top and it's stock. That was what the teacher was looking for. Single owner since March 2001. $27,500.

yeah having bought two cars in 2022, I never thought I would be happy to buy a car at MSRP, I never paid MSRP on any car until this year. So goes the market. Dealer mark-ups are not allowed here.
I did get the cars more quickly compared to how long many purchasers have to wait, so that made me happy. I got some loyalty discounts from the manufacturers too, every bit helps.
I was pumping gas this morning at Costco. There was an old gentleman with 2001 Civic Coupe. I mentioned to him I had 2001 Civic Coupe with 5 speed MT. I told him what a good car that was. He said his car is exactly the same and gets 39 MPG. His was red but mine was silver. I don't see too many of this variety around anymore.

While I was in Torrance, I was looking at a MB EQS SUV. dealer had ADM ( Additional Dealer Markup) of $25,000.
I had no intent to buy but told him, it would be a cold day in hell when he got over MSRP.
FWIW ethanol blends are fairly new in NZ (maybe past 10 years or so?) and still not widely used. I have no performance issues with any of my vehicles or gas-powered equipment. I run 98RON in the S2000 and 95RON in everything else. Last time I started the S2000 (March this year) it still fired up like it had new gas in it despite last filling up 3 years ago. Admittedly I only ran it up to 7,000rpm but it felt perfectly normal.
I agree, barely driving the S2000 is a crime, and I deserve to be punished for it. Although barely driving it is punishment itself.
Well we did not drive the CX50 home yesterday. After multiple attempts at unlocking Experian, we gave up. Friday I will have the funds together and we will go back, if they hold the car, and pay cash. See the x3&**# thread for the whole Experian experience.
