Last night I found out that the man who drove the very first Corvette off the assembly line had a home here in Bondville and is buried in the cemetery down the street from me.

What an interesting bit of automotive trivia...and I am not being ironic or sarcastic. How in the world did you make this discovery?

It was common knowledge if you were one of the inter circle Corvette owners. I stopped paying my dues otherwise I would have known.

That's a good question. A resident at the retirement home that I work at has a C-4 Corvette and he was telling me that he was at the post office in Bondville and a woman in her 90's with a walker said to him nice Corvette what year is it? Long story short he ended up in a conversation with her and she told him how her husband had driven the first Corvette off the assembly line.

FWIIW: For those of you that may subscribe to Discovery+ they have an interesting documentary series on "How It's Made" about super cars. The one that I just watched on the V12 Ferrari FF was fascinating.

There is NO doubt that Enzo Senior would be proud of the technology that is being employed today to produce his name sake. The craft men ship coupled with the technology is amazing.
