Tesla’s is a great performance vehicle by all accounts. Clearly they don’t worry about fit and finish because they are so busy making constant upgrades on the fly to the electronic features. For example, they didn’t let the chip shortage cut their production like all the other companies. Instead they redesigned the inners to work with different chips that were not in short supply.

Since I installed a 240 system in the MG garage I am ready for an EV but I certainly would not want to have to sit around for 20 minutes at some charging system while traveling. And the travel distance in Michigan’s winters would be cut in half from what you’d get in TX.

I fall in with the 50% of drivers that want to stick with ICE’s over EV’s no matter what...... so I'm ready to put that Porsche of yours in my garage.

The notoriously poor Tesla build quality demonstrates that Tesla is an electronics company more than a car company. I wonder how Tesla will do in the face of increasing EV competition from Ford, Porsche, MB, and even Lucid at the top end.

Granted, Tesla is still out front when it comes to the software side of things but the lead is shrinking fast.

I once read that Musk started Tesla not as a permanent fixture in the automobile industry but rather to demonstrate to the Fords, GMs, MBs etc. of the world that it was possible to make a fast, fun, and exciting EV with acceptable range. Basically Musk wanted to kick-start the EV market. Mission accomplished. But now what? And is this what he is also doing with SpaceX?

I am curious how the giga-casting element will play out.
An automotive assembly expert looked at the model 3 and crapped all over it for having too many parts.
Musk listened and christened the effort for the giga casting method.
Now the entire subframes for the front and rear will be one component.
It will improve assembly reliability and reduce costs.

I really like the British sense of humor. It has probably grown on me having owned British cars since 1963. I was reading a British magazine article talking about BMW's trend to either make cars that look like stealth bombers or dreary, generic SUVs. Here's a couple great lines from it.....

"Some are so ugly it's hard to tell where styling ends and panel damage begins."

"In other cases, a light prang (crash) might actually benefit them visually.."
