I am renting a Hertz Tesla Y LR for two weeks in September in Frankfurt DE. $1000 for the rental. Includes free charging at Tesla and Hertz designated stations.
This is my first time in a Tesla. I can tell you I won't be using the autopilot going 200KM/hour on the autobahn!

YIKES. 140mph. Makes me wonder if they had tires rated for that kind of prolonged speed. I'm sure it happened too fast to suffer.

Pretty much a brand new 911 Turbo S, so the tires were definitely up to the task.

Shame, but entirely preventable.

There was another head on collision about 5 miles from my house today both cars burst into flames. They had the road closed down all day.
Yesterday a propane service truck caught fire about 5 miles further south from were today's accident was and it had just been picked up from being serviced the whole truck burned to the ground. It was a utility truck not a tanker looked like an F-350.

The EVO upgrade is finally done. Unfortunately Rob could not pick up the car and shoot a hand-over segment due to his wife's sudden non-life-threatening health emergency. He did video a short clip the guys at SA included near the end of this video. He will go up and pick up the car sometime in the next few weeks.

On a side note, I spent last week at my Mom's, giving my sisters and my aunt a break from their combined 24 hour care duties. This week I am in Ohio at Robs. This visit was already planned before his wife's health issues arose. Now I am mostly just trying to be helpful with chores like cooking and cleaning. Rob and I may go over to Mid Ohio tomorrow to watch Dart Kart. Not exactly IMSA but Rob has a season pass. Too bad I won't be here next week for the Mid-Ohio Vintage Gran Prix.

Hey Mike, great looking and sharp sounding son - definitely a car guy. Clearly the shop was pleased with how the car turned out. Hope all goes well with Robs wife.

Canadian Formula 1 grand prix this weekend. Vettel shows up with a T-shirt displaying his displeasure for Canadian crude oil. I thought that was very disrespectful, meanwhile his country of Germany bought all of the Russian oil and gas it could get - what a knob. I wonder how his race car will get filled up with gasoline ?
