That was my experience, too. The Lexus has a similar type of projector low beam headlight system and has the same sharp stepped cut-off but I think the S low beams provided better distant illumination.

The LED WRX bulbs look really bright , but I think the S2000 HID puts more light on the road ?

On our way south today, we saw, not one, but TWO Nissan Murano convertibles. I can't believe two people bought that ugly car. We have seen a couple of Corvettes, a varied selection of P cars, but not a single S2000. I guess they must all be garage queens.

Ours is a driveway queen. Traveling in the P car, enjoying extra creature comforts and more room. It was not a top down day.

Rob, I only own it on paper, it is still in the build project in Japan I did test drive one for a long time though which was cool.

Overall I like the car, there are things that are not much of an upgrade, and things that are nice upgrades. While the motor doesn't make much more power, it does have a much smoother power curve, so it feels better. Brakes , suspension, chassis, steering, and infotainment are improved.

I thought of you today, I was driving behind a Ferrari 308 GT, it looked nice, sounded somewhat cool, and stunk like hell, I had to pass it just to get away from his fumes. lol.

Love the 308, haven't seen one out in the flesh in a long time.
Sounds like a somewhat improved driving experience with the new WRX. I had a few chug-a-chug episodes with mine today driving in stop and go traffic.

The changes are not that drastic, but decent in some respects. The Subaru dealer offered me so much money for my 2019 WRX that I can get into a brand new WRX at a lower monthly cost, and I walk away with money in my pocket. It is enough to motivate me, when I normally would not be looking for a new car. I bet your used WRX is worth a pretty penny too.

I get out of a used WRX that is out of warranty, and into a new WRX with full warranty, roadside assistance, new tires, new brakes, and all that stuff. I also avoid the 100,000 km maintenance interval , that is when it gets a bit more costly than your average oil change interval. I also don't want to clean the intake valve deposits caused by direct injection , I'd rather not be the owner of the car when it starts to see effects from valve deposits.

Yes it makes sense financially to me to do what you did. Like I told you before I was hoping to trade my 18 in on a 21 because I prefer that style but they had them jacked up crazy high. I have a year and 22k miles left on the powertrain warranty so maybe next year I'll reassess.
