For those of you that may subscribe to Discovery + You may find this documentary about reviving the Radford coach building name along with the former F1 World Champion Jenson Button informative?

My P.S. After watching this documentary I have been struck with the following thoughts:
  • Growing up as a teenager and a fan of the TV show "The Avengers" I had a crush on Dianna Rigg who played the part of Mrs. Peel and drove a Lotus Europa.
  • In 1976 I attended an SCCA three hour endurance race at Bridgehampton race course on Long Island. Where lap after lap I watched a Europa S-2 hound a Z-28 Camaro for hours. From the Paddock one could see the back twisty part of the circuit where the Europa would catch up with the Camaro. Then coming up at of the last turn it would be right on it's rear bumper. Then the Camaro would pull away down the front straight away. But every lap the Europa would emerge from the last turn clued to the Camaro's bumper. It made me a fan of the Lotus Europa.
  • Then in the mid 90's I met a person that had one and let me drive it. Yes it handled well. But I could not get over the sloppy shifter. IMHO: My 1963 VW Bug had a better shift gate than that Lotus.
  • As we all know. The S-2000 has one of the best transmissions and shifters ever built into a production car.
That is my two cents.

Yeah. Good times.

I remember when I could buy a decent driver quality air-cooled 911 for less than 20 grand.

Or a nice 280sl for $2500.
Or looking at a Pantera for $6700.
of course a good salary was 12k a year back then.

I don't remember when pagoda's were that low. When I was used Ferrari, Porsche shopping 10 years ago I was good to go with a budget of 40k leaving room for maintenance repairs, Don't see those days coming back.
Speaking of Pantera's I love the concept and styling of them but that is one car that I cannot fit in, I have tried more than once, just not happening.

Absopositively, and the Yankee swapper, I used to go to Cumberland Farms every week and get it. Sold a few cars in it, I remember the photographer would come to your house and take pictures for your ad.

I remember when people told me I overpaid for mine back in 2007. Keyboard warriors, lol. They really are amazing vehicles, although I'm not sure I'd re-buy at today's numbers.

Who didn't have a crush on Ms. Rigg?
I tried to get into a Europa that showed up at an autocross a few years ago and could not manage it. At least not into the driver's seat. I am relatively short and far from fat and back then I was pretty flexible, but the combination of door opening, seat, and steering wheel just made it nearly impossible.
