Looks like it could use a good rubbing compound to bring out the shine in that paint.

I will admit, I've never been a fan of the flat finish.

a shuffle of the fleet.
I miss the soft top. The SL63 is s convertible hat top I'm just not as enthusiastic about the handling etc. The AMG GTS is perfect as far as handling goes but it a fixed roof coupe.
An AMG GTR or GTC roadster convertible would be perfect. for a little while you could get GTC's kinda cheap relatively speaking when they were first coming in off of lease.
Now not as much.
One of these days.
I'd go for the new SL over the GT, I think it looks better now.

Could always try the other Germans, they make convertibles as well.

I know a fellow with a Mercedes that has the matte paint finish on it. I think it looks okay, but I prefer my cars to be as shiny as possible. I always wanted to run my hand over the paint to feel it, expecting it to have a non-smooth feel and I always thought stains like bird poop might be harder to remove. I was able to do that the other day and it felt surprisingly smooth and slippery to me. It looks less smooth than it is I guess , and likely has plenty of protection from the elements.

I have been told by the Mercedes dealer that you have to be somewhat mindful of washing and cleaning the matte finish cars. It is possible to create a "shine" from polishing that will detract from the dull finish.
