Look on the bright side Jerry, you can afford it and you have someplace to put it and your better half approved the purchase.
I think you should get something older to balance your collection like a pagoda.

And they want us to buy electric sports cars , the purists at Porsche must be pulling their hair out as they move quickly to revamp their lineup to electric , too fast maybe ?

Friday, as I waited for my SAINT passenger to get a blood test and meds, my 2025 BMW X5 told me I needed to update the key software. Okay. Why not? I said yes and it said I could lock the car and walk away. I was parked in a handicapped spot so I thought I'd move the car out of that spot. The car was dead. No starting it. No lights. At least my flashers worked. I went inside Kaiser to use the restroom and told my passenger who had just finished her business that we weren't going anywhere. The screen told me it would take 20 minutes to update.

So, we got back in the car and waited. I was worried it would make me late for my last two passengers, after I got this woman home. Finally the car was ready so off we went for the 7 miles back to her house. Phew!

But wait! The screen then said to pull over and call for assistance because the charging system wasn't working properly. The engine sounded fine and I kept going. I got her home and turned the car off. When I started it back up the warning was gone and never came back on. I was still early for my next two passengers.

Did I mention I hate this car? Great stereo, power and decent mpg but I still hate it.

^^^^ My co-worker had a similar issue with her Tesla last week's over-the-air update. The update made her Tesla inoperable. She called Tesla and a tech came out and got her vehicle working again after about an hour. I was impressed by how quickly they responded to her call.

It’s also going to likely drive up the values of the older stuff like the air cooled cars.
