I just picked up a 2022 BMW X3. Low mileage and only a few paint blemishes which I got out or touched up. The chrome exhausts tips were blackened by exhaust emission, I used chrome polish and 0000 steel wool to bring them back. They do look better but not all of the black came out. I plan to use chrome paint to finish them off. I will apply some high temp primer, then hi temp chrome paint. Any suggestions.

Ray try Mothers polish I use it on the exhaust tips on both my cars and it gets all the black off and shines them up.

. The black has been on there too long. I sanded it off with a 320 grit sand block then used my chrome polish. It took it off. Then I painted it with 3 coats of high temp chrome paint, They look like new.

I'm always trying to find the best chrome paint. Years back there was a really good brand but it's no longer available. What brand did you use?

Dupli Color high temp. I also used it to paint the brake calipers on my BMW 328i calipers. Great paint.

I don't need high temp. I re-paint my wire wheels at the end of every driving season. Plastic-Kote bumper chrome 615 was ‘the best’ but is no longer available - oh, they still sell it but it is not even close to what is was at one time, now its just a silver paint. Currently I use Krylon metallic silver, which is just ok. I likely have tried Dupli Color; I have some in different colors but I will look for it and try it in chrome.

Dumb move of the week? The local radio station here in the DC Metro area 100.3 FM told a story about a guy from NYC that posted a video on Tic Tok that he was driving under the speed limit and saw that a traffic camera went off to take his picture. So just for fun he drove about the block and past the camera again going even slower. It went off again. So he drove around the block and past the camera going slower each time. He did this twelve times and thought that he would have a fun day in court with the Judge as he knew he was NOT speeding.

Several days later he got twelve tickets in the mail. All of them for him NOT wearing his seat belt!

Ray is this the correct one? I couldn't find one that says chrome and high temp.

They have non high temp that I used to paint my wheels. Sanded them, 3 coats of primer and 3 light coats of paint, came out great.
