Believe that's more of an issue if you've been driving it hard, not just normal, plus more related to a modded car versus a stock one. I know I've let the 911 sit for a minute or two after a decent blast but genuinely have no idea if it's warranted since it's all stock.

We've had several turbos. Unless we had been driving for hours, Rick never really worried about letting it idle before turning off. We had the WRX for 78K miles. No issues.
Rick dropped his S2000 off today at the dealership where he used to work. Routine maintenance, fluid changes, and a cursory look to see if all is in order. I picked him up and was looking around the showroom.
Jeep will no longer make my Cherokee model. I preferred it over the Compass. However, I saw a Compass in the show room. Painted fenders which Rick requires since he hates all the black plastic around fenders, and lots of options. Engine the same as mine, 4 cylinder with a turbo. So, if that model is available when the times comes, I'll go that route.
I have 38K on my Cherokee now. I'll be itching to get something new in a few more years. The only car we have kept over 100K is the Honda. If I told Rick I wanted a new car tomorrow, he'd say buy it. I believe that's because at some point he may want to update his Porsche (even though I said it was the last one) and won't want to hear me that I need a new car.
Finance people don't advise trading in cars all that often, but they are not the boss of me/us. Life is short.....drive what you like/want, if budget permits.

The trick is getting it registered in My state. (MA) rather than Montana LLC.
Dear old Massachusetts is rather finicky about garaging for more than 30 days requiring a local registration and insurance.
Given that my town has a population of under 5,000 and an Ariel Atom might stand out, you know, like just a little, it wouldn't be long before the local PD LEO said Hi.

Three of my vehicles are turbocharged, although one is a tractor and one is a digger. I do enjoy a bit of boost but I find the NA engines in the Touareg (VR6) and Farmtruck (VQ35) to be far more responsive than the Q7's. That could probably be sorted with a remap though. Given our winding roads and shorter distances a responsive engine is generally more fun to drive than a powerful one.

I've grown fond of some of the modern engines that now use smaller - twin scroll - types of turbos, vs. the old school larger turbos. They are very responsive and peak torque is often pretty low in the torque band. The WRX engine was my first introduction to such turbos and that engine feels great. I also have a Golf GTi with a smaller turbo , when I test drove the Golf R with the larger turbo the GTi felt plenty good to me in comparison., both had similar torque numbers and the GTi felt great in daily driving. If I wanted to go to the racetrack every weekend a larger turbo might be fun and you don't care about response as much. I'm sold on the smaller turbos and twin scroll types , they feel great.

Actually joey, I would believe you care more about responsiveness on the track.
On the track smooth is everything. having a sudden peak when torque and HP jump in would make the car much harder to drive fast.
