Yesterday I spent an entire afternoon washing the MG. I was surprised how dirty it was after just some 300 to 500 miles of driving. Dirt, tar, baked on bugs. Cleaned the wires good as well. So this was day 2 and I did the clay bar using a Mothers pad. The hard turtle shell shape it was easier to use than the Griot's rounded soft shell pad. There are still places on the car where I miss the putty-style clay because the pads too large for tight small places. Tomorrow is reserved for applying Ultra Lock Plus. The stereo speakers I bought last year work really great in my man cave; much better than in the house. I tried them in the house over the winter.
The paint on my car is 20 years old and just stage 1 acrylic so there is a limit on how much it can shine. The real surprise was the chrome... honestly I can see my face clearly enough in the top of the grill that I could shave with it. I would strongly recommend using a very soft micro pad to apply it. I ordered some Mothers pads and they didn't work well at all. Instead I used a square blue super soft pad I had used applying polish in the past. Because my car is Old English White it was near impossible to see where I was applying the Ultra Lock since it matched my car color when spreading it. Since it was pretty shiny before I not sure it shows up in a photo.

I've driven by a couple older MG's in recent weeks (tis the season for them), not as old as Dave's model though. I am always shocked by how small they are when they approach me or are coming up from behind, they are literally little toy cars compared to me sitting high up in my SUV, I actually start to chuckle when I see them in the distance.

As I periodically get reminiscent for my sprite, I think about driving it locally.
We have lots of low speed side roads with stop signs that enter high speed highway segments.
I've pretty much come to the conclusion that they would be dangerous to drive.
