Yesterday I spent an entire afternoon washing the MG. I was surprised how dirty it was after just some 300 to 500 miles of driving. Dirt, tar, baked on bugs. Cleaned the wires good as well. So this was day 2 and I did the clay bar using a Mothers pad. The hard turtle shell shape it was easier to use than the Griot's rounded soft shell pad. There are still places on the car where I miss the putty-style clay because the pads too large for tight small places. Tomorrow is reserved for applying Ultra Lock Plus. The stereo speakers I bought last year work really great in my man cave; much better than in the house. I tried them in the house over the winter.

I seen a lady drive by me today in a new Merc G-wagon. It was a really nice colour, but I just don't understand the allure of those vehicles based on the cost. I know they aren't made for people like me, but if I had all that money I still would not like to have one. If someone told me they were $80,000 I'd say that is too much, but they are 2-3 times that amount here. Nothing about them appeals to me, and I'd rather have something else for that money, maybe I'm just weird that way.

I agree. The national humane society is having a drawing. Winner get a 2024 Porsche Carrera and a 2024 Corvette -or- $100,000. That would be an easy decision for me.

The other thing is the depreciation is huge. Suppose it is a status symbol thing.

I remember a few years back a friend of mine bought a big S-class Mercedes, around $120,000 , he was telling me about all these great features like the car had lane-keep assist and would keep you centred in the drive lane, it would auto brake in emergency situations, and adapt the speed up and down automatically when in cruise on the highway.

A couple years later I bought my Honda Civic for $30,000 that had all the same features. lol. I thought that was kind of funny when I showed him my new car.

Cough cough, Joey as a mercedes guy, let me explain it to you....

nah I got nothing. my wife hates them and says they are way to ugly.
If you are going to do serious off-roading they are quite capable.
A three differentials can lock independently.
I've never actually driven one.
I do know of a hot looking Chinese gal who has a G63 who uses the same dealer I do.
She loves hers. She did say it almost killed her paying off the loan. it was like $4 or 5k a month.
Side note: it is one of the few I don't have.

Yeah I am not crazy about the looks of them either, I agree with your wife.
Oddly enough the woman I seen driving it was very attractive too, lol. The C63 versions are even much more expensive, yeah that monthly payment would be huge.

I guess the good news is this is out of my budget.
But if there was ever a perfect color combo. This pushes all of the right buttons.
I agree on the color combo - perfect. As for the car, it looks like a green shoe box with lights. I watched the driving video as the land cruiser zipped along at 55 ... .
As they say, different strokes for different folks.
