Its looks are not for everybody but plenty of people think it's just plain cool, and plane cool as well.
I'd suggest most of those that like it is simply because it is a Tesla. If it had a Kia badge I have a feeling they would scoff and laugh at it. I think it's ugly as sin, purely Elon stroking his ego and proving the people will buy whatever turd he produces to be accepted into the Tesla cool kid club.

I was all in on mocking the Cybertruck, laughing it off as just an attention grabbing Tesla side project. But the more I learn about Tesla's cheese grater latest offering the more interesting it becomes.

OK. The Tesla Cybertruck is first and foremost a science project showcasing the ability of Tesla engineers to turn an Elon Musk fever dream into reality. And yes, I think if this had come out of Korea (or Alabama) with a Kia badge it would still draw tons of attention. Every car oriented YouTube channel is putting out videos these days featuring one of the press vehicles and whenever one is parked it immediately draws a crowd. Most in that crowd seem to have no idea that it is a Tesla product. (Not everyone reads Car and Driver or watches every Throttle House video.) What's more, if Kia or Honda or GM or BMW had come out with a steer-by-wire system as good and as innovative as the one in the Cibertruck it would be huge news. (Please spare me talk about steering feel. It;s a truck, not a sports car)

There are a lot of things wrong with the Cibertruck, starting with its one-touch-screen-fits-all approach to the driver-vehicle interface and including things like its sketchy build quality and an eye-watering price tag. But there is enough innovative engineering to interest any car geek once they look past the Cybertruck's strange exterior design. Given time for the design and engineering to mature I expect a lot of today's nay-sayers will change their toon and appreciate the Cibertruck for it's innovative engineering and clean sheet of paper overall design. It will never be a mainstream truck but imho the Cybertruck will make some history before its done. Think F-117.

The 117 only lasted just over 10 years. Less than 100 delivered. Very short for an expensive plane. Maybe longer than the Tesla truck will.

The design is what has provided a wedge for people to hate on it and go looking for more ways to say "LOOK HOW RUBBISH THIS THING IS!" If it looked more like a regular truck, or maybe even like a Model X with a bed, then it'd be lauded as another great step forward. Sure people would still be getting it stuck in snow drifts and mud and whatnot, but more people would be blaming the tires and the driver rather than the vehicle itself.

Even if they were made in RHD I wouldn't buy one in its current form, I'd take a Rivian any day - again, if they were made in RHD.

I wouldn't buy one either, even if I could afford it and already had compatible charging infrastructure installed in my garage. But its tech sure is interesting.

DeLorean! What a beautiful car! I can't imagine a car that is more iconic of those of us who were in high school when it first came out!

Beautiful is not a term that I would ever use to describe a DeLorean. Just me.
