The more I learn about him the more I respect him! He isn't about getting rich. He's about saving humans from dying out on earth like dinosaurs. I'd much rather die out on earth than live on Mars but he's got an entirely different mind. SpaceX is an amazing accomplishment! He did it with help but it's his baby.

He's very intense and very intelligent. Not my kind of people but the world is better off with some like him. The book I'm reading tells a lot about his daily life and how driven he is.

I'm starting to come under the belief that Elon has gone to long being isolated from folks who will tell him reality.
He's become enamored with his larger than life persona. I'm glad he's a foreign national other we'd see him run for office.

What are you basing this opinion on? I wonder if you'd believe that after reading the book I'm reading.

The whole Mars-as-a-lifeboat thing is a pipe dream. Here we are sitting on a perfectly good planet that could be a great home going forward if we just invested the resources needed to clean up our industrial age mess. If we can't do that why would one think we could muster the far greater financial resources needed to colonize a distant and far more hostile environment?
Now, Mars as an outpost for further exploration of the solar system, that's an idea I could get behind.
