Wow, Scoots, that sucks and I will spread the word. Going to a big MG meeting this coming weekend, many who are believers because it has been a beloved Michigan based company.

I suppose i could reduce that time by twenty days as the body shop was slow doing their estimate but the company that did the original estimate for Hagerty didn't see half of the damage that was visible so they had to wait for my shop. Plus, Hagerty didn't believe that some of the parts were discontinued!

Did you mean to say that they didn't see half of the damage?

When I hit a road gator (truck tire tread) on the freeway, I told the repair shop the same thing, "There are no front lips anymore. You HAVE to fix it!" They didn't believe me either and that added time as they discovered the truth.

BTW, in S2000 solidarity, I drove my S2000 yesterday, since it was in the high 40s. I even had the top down. I love putting it down at a red light. Yeah, I was showing off. I patted the dash with a kiss. It was fun to drive a stick again. It's so precise in curves. It's a real dog in Rocky Mountain National park, at above 8,000 feet but here in Loveland it wasn't too bad.

^2-13-2024. It had 40,472 miles before I added about 40 more.

^2-13-2024. Back home and connected to the battery tender. I didn't cover it. My completed garage has been doing a great job with dust, compared to before it was finished.

^2-13-2024. I haven't put many miles on it here in Colorado averaging about 1,000 per year.

I'd have a hard time not driving the S in Colorado if I lived there. So many great roads to explore.

I contacted Grundy and JC Taylor. Neither will insure my F-150 for personal use, whereas Hagerty allows me 4,000 miles each year. Having two vehicles with Hagerty I am getting a bigger discount than I realized. To remove the MG and go with another will increase my costs approximately $250. I have been with Hagerty for 19 years and Scoots' situation is the only horror story I've heard. I've got a month to think about it. I will kick it around at the MG clubs annual business meeting on Sunday.

The Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires require warmer temperatures. That limits a lot of days. I also have them on my 2017 NSX.Note: Tires exposed to temperatures of 20 degrees F (-7 degrees C) or lower must be permitted to gradually return to temperatures of at least 40 degrees F (5 degrees C) for at least 24 hours before they are flexed in any manner, such as by adjusting inflation pressures, mounting them on wheels or using them to support, roll or drive a vehicle.

Flexing of the specialized rubber compounds used in Max Performance Summer tires during cold-weather use can result in irreversible compound cracking. Compound cracking is not a warrantable condition because it occurs as the result of improper use or storage, tires exhibiting compound cracking must be replaced.

The Michelins are a lot more forgiving than the Pirellis on my 911. I found the Michelins didn't do badly at colder temps (not 40° of course), the Pirellis are like rocks. My brother has the same Michelins on his Corvette, it's a nice tire. I debating getting them for the 911 when the Pirellis are done.

I've been very happy with the PS4's but when I just looked at Tire rack, it seems there are other high performance summer tires that are great. When I got mine they were the best.

Michelin Pilot Sport 4S are the summer choice and Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4ZP are the standard tires for 2024 Corvette E-Ray with 655HP. The E-Ray is the quickest production Corvette in history, clocking a 2.5-second 0-60 mph time before breezing through the quarter-mile in 10.5 seconds! Michelin have been my tire of choice for as long as I can recall.

I don't recall which tires Rick purchased, but he leaves all seasons on the S until the snow gets ready to fly. Since it's a daily driver, he no longer bothers with tires that don't like the cold or are strictly performance tires. It's not like he's driving the car at it's limits around town.....at least he doesn't when he's with me.

Snow tires for the winter, though he hasn't driven the car in all that much snow.....we haven't had that much and since we're both retired now, if he's nice, I'll let him borrow my Jeep.
