Congrats!! Love Rio, of course!! Here is the Perkymobile last night. We are undergoing a huge project in our garage to resurface the floors, so I had to relocate to a different spot on a floor where the new surface is done. They did a great job.

Hummmm, school bus yellow. Looks really nice Scoots. I was trying to recall when you had your accident? I have got two cars insured with Hagerty and I wasn't thrilled with the length of time it took for your settlement. My renew is coming up in a month. TBD.

Dave, my $0.02. I have the NSX insured with Grundy. Back in December, I was putting it in my winter storage unit, with my neighbor guiding me in. Unfortunately, neither he nor I were watching the front passenger side, and I scraped the bumper and right fender on the overhead door rail. A couple of weeks later, I had it at my mechanic's for an oil change and his detailer came in. He asked who I had it insured through, and when I told him Grundy, he suggested I file a claim, so I did. Within a couple days the claims department contacted me and sent out an appraiser. Within a week, I had a check for the damage, and even with the deductible, the detailer replaced the PPF that was damaged and buffed out the scrape not costing me a cent. Even looking closely, you can't tell there was any damage. TL/DR: Grundy treated me fairly and was quick to respond!

Thanks Gene, I plan to call Grundy and JC Taylor. By my estimate it took Hagerty "12 weeks" to settle Scoot's accident. I'm not putting up with that.
When I had an accident in 2004 in my MG, it was totaled. The check from JC Taylor was at my house before I got home from the hospital. JC Taylor then turned all the follow through for settlement to a local Grand Rapids insurance company, Foremost, which I worked with for almost a year and half. I just pulled out my old accident file and was reminded of my medical issues.
several fractured ribsfluid on lungs
shattered joint on left thumb
stitches in chin
stitches in right elbow
bruised hips and top of legs (both)
right foot bone fracture
chunk of floating tissue in the right elbow (pending)
ligiment problems between knuckles of left hand
cracked tooth which had to be extracted
jammed a/c joint in shoulder
three teeth implants required
The primary reason I did not renew with JC Taylor was their normal renewal process each year was to treat you like you were never their customer and you were starting from scratch . . name address everything . . all on handwritten paper. I hope they are not still back in the dark ages when it comes to the process.

It was 101 days from the accident to when they officially totaled it. I sent them the title overnight and I am still waiting for the money.
