I would agree on Corolla being one of the best cars to buy.

Back in 2018 looking for the right car was a new kind of car buying experience for me. In the past my car buying requirements were looks, performance, and reliability – in that order. I would know the two or three models I wanted to compare and that was that. In 2018 we were looking for a SUV for the wife and I had no idea what we wanted. I had never given SUVs any thought what so ever. I could not have named a single model for any manufacturer. To me they are all just boxes with wheels, some big and some small. The wife had always driven Subaru's but the last one did not hold up. I did so much research (13 sites) and looked at 28; many did not make the cut for a test drive. The Honda CR-V we bought ranked 31st on the US News lists of best SUV's. Kia's, etc. all headed their list back then. Certainly odd since the CR-V ranked 1st overall for the 18 compact SUVs available for two years in a row according to my notes. Never rely on just one source and never buy without a test drive, preferably a long one. I have no faith in US News as a source.

One caveat to that, parts are getting harder and harder to find for the S2000's and prices are going up on the parts that are still available. There's a lot of Porsche's running around with 100-150k miles and parts are relatively easy to get, yes they're more expensive but that tends to happen with a more expensive car in general.
