Saw this in an article about problems with Tesla EVs. I know I had issues renting a Tesla Y last year in Germany for 16 days from Hertz (with free charging-The 16 days came to $1000 total) Charging with the Superchargers was a pain and despite the plethora of chargers in cities and town (much more than the US) it was still a hassle finding one that was available. You get 2 hours of free parking in Germany to charge. Interesting Hertz is now shedding itself of Teslas. Did not work out so well for them. That being said, the car easily swallowed 5 people and all the carry on luggage including purses and small bags. Cat shot acceleration. Auto drive was not as good as Mercedes and the navigation system was so so. Interior was fine but spartan. I really liked the one pedal for both acceleration and braking. Took a couple of days to have it ingrained in my psyche.

This is from our poor freezing buddies up north in Canada.

Based on that information it is also more expensive than gasoline in an ICE vehicle, and you can blast the heat all you want in an ICE, and no delays. My hybrid escape will get me at least 800 kms in similar conditions, and fuel cost would be $70 give or take, 280 kms would be about $30.

I have started looking for a replacement car for my S2000. What a PITA. There are quite a few out there but not what I'm looking for. This may be a long process.

I was thinking the same thing. Fun, inexpensive top down car but without the manual transmission the S has.

That or a Porche but that is more $.

New Miata still has 6 speed available.
Used Boxster would be a way to go also.

The body shop is in discussions with the insurance company to total it. There is a lot of other damage they have found and the adjuster missed.
