+1 for the OEM cover. 5 years on mine now and still in top condition even though the garage gets very dusty and birds find their way in to nest over Spring. It's had a couple of cycles in the wash but still holding up fine.

The head of BMW is not giving up on ICE . They are committed to keeping old school engines going, also admitting that the manufacturing of electric vehicles is not as environmentally friendly as people think.

I bought myself a Christmas present I didn't need . . . a dash camera. I picked up a Nextbase 222X, which is a combo of a dash and rear camera for $60, new in the box on E-bay. And, separately a 128GB U3 SD card for $50. So, for $110, I can tape bad drivers. I wish I had one back when I was doing S2000 track days.

^A wise purchase. I have one in our Crosstour and my S. Thankfully, I have never needed the footage to record any crazy drivers...well, except when I totaled my old S in July of 2022. Playing back the incident was kind of traumatic, especially hearing Bea scream on our ride through the trees and down the hill.

I've watched my accident twice and that was enough!

Gene and David the thought that I may be jinking myself with the purchase has crossed my mind. I sure hope not.

Dave, I have had a dash camera in each of my vehicles for years and never had a problem before seven weeks ago. The one thing I was told long ago was that if you are in an accident and are able remove the camera and card before the police show up. The evidence on the camera could be used against you if you are slightly at-fault or did something stupid like not turning when the road turned!!

I have always thought about getting one as I do a lot of driving. I remember seeing reports of some insurance scammers out there where they bump into you and then claim you caused the accident , blah, blah, blah. I've driven millions of miles accident free but you never know when you might need it. I think it is a good idea.

^ If you need to be convinced, just search on YouTube for dash-cam videos.

I've thought of getting one but it would require moving it from car to car.

Barb could have used one about a week ago. She was sitting at an intersection waiting to cross Rt 117 near our house.
The intersection only has stops signs. A young driver opposite Barb thought they could make it across 117 I guess.
She smacked the rear quarter of the truck travelling on 117 which spun right in front of Barb fortunately missing her car.
Just a little morning excitement to help get the old heart pumping.
