It is hard for me to believe it but it is true . . . with a 23% increase that goes to 30% with other factors . . . guess what . . .

"MORE UAW LOCALS REJECTING NEW CONTRACT
Uh-oh, looks like UAW president Shawn Fain may have raised expectations too high for some of his membership. Remember, when negotiations got going, Fain demanded a 40% raise, a 4-day work week, and a return to full pensions. None of that is in the final contract and now some UAW locals are rejecting it. Workers at GM’s Flint assembly, Pontiac stamping, Marion stamping and Romulus engine rejected it. At Ford, workers at Kentucky assembly and Lakeland parts voted it down. And so did workers at Stellantis’ Milwaukee auto parts facility. Most workers have actually approved the contract by fairly healthy margins, but more plants have yet to vote and there seems to be a growing backlash. Some militant workers want Shawn Fain to go back to the bargaining tables and get them more of what said he was going to get them."

^ here I thought it was the best deal they ever got in a very long time, hard to believe someone would vote it down. If they got 40% no one would be able to afford the cars they produce. This is not a world I recognize but if they can get money out of the man then they are doing well, no one else but them.

Short run gain but in the long run companies will move their plants to a more favorable location.

It's tough being a union boss when you are expected to get your employees 40% increases and lots of benefits and shorter work weeks with no productivity gains. Surely the employees knew that you have to start off high and settle for something lower at the end of the negotiations. They got it pretty good though. I think the Flint employees were drinking to0 much of that Flint water, it has skewed their ability to reason. .

I wonder if Leno was among those invited to the closed door auction.

Those Ferrari GTBs are beautiful cars. Classic styling.

Locals are a challenge. If you get a small core of members that hate GM, Ford etc that too can make them angry and they see this as a chance to hurt the company.

I know if my employees hated me, it could never work well for anyone, them or me.

Leno doesn’t buy Ferrari’s but maybe he would of been interested in one of the Merc’s.
