The second car that caught my eye was this bubble car on the back of a 1940's Dodge car hauler. It too had great history. This bubble car was the very 'first' one done by Darryl Starbird who became famous and in the custom world is known as The Bubble Top King. It was constructed on a 1960 Corvair.

The third car that wow'd me was this Super Clean 1940's rod. No door handles, no trunk handle, no normal running board . . instead just as smooth and matching the body. Everything was remote controlled, along with A/C, etc.

Imagine picking up the kids from school, in that car.

Was on our evening walk when I saw a guy with a shirt that said “Real cars don’t shift themselves.” So…of course I had to talk to him. He has owned quite a few manual cars. Think he said his fave was the Porsche 911. He also said GTS. Not sure if he meant the 911 Carrera GTS or another GTS. Anywho, does not matter. One of my fave cars!

I got a call from my beloved this afternoon, " is there something going on with the brakes on the GL?"
"I just drove it, it's fine!"
"Well my foot is going to the floor, I'm in the BJ's lot."
So I told her to call Mercedes and have it towed in, I'm on my way. I've learned to listen if she mentions something doesn't seem to be kosher.
Sure enough. I started it and felt my foot immediately sink down. So I shut it off and climbed out.
You don't have to be a rocket scientist ( I actually am) to figure this one out.
Yup that's a puddle of brake fluid. Drivers side flex line let go at the coupling.
good news, repair should be pretty straightforward and not that expensive.
bad news, hood latch release cable broke when I was trying to release it.
I think it is getting time to retire this one.
The dealer is trying to talk me into upgrading it. so they sent me a history of what I have spent on it over the last few years.
It may not have had the effect they were looking for.

That sucks Jerry, how old is that brake line ? I've never had that happen to any vehicle even some very old ones. Good thing it didn't happen while driving though they are supposed to have some redundancy built into the brake system.

This car pulled down our side street and asked for directions. I could not figure out what it was. I knew it was not a Porsche but I couldn't ID the label from where I was sitting enjoying a brew. Finally when I saw it parked in a driveway across from me I knew it wasn't like any Outback my wife ever owned. Love'd the cool plate. The color, the wheels, the brakes, the twin exhausts, stick shift, etc. it really was f'n cool for a Subaru and the sexy lady that got out of it wasn't too bad either.
