Nobody who is just going to drive a car on the street needs 800 horsepower.

Some people should not drive a car on the street with 100 horsepower...

My first Austin Healey Sprite had 48 HP but then again it only weighed 1400 lbs.
Robb the most I've ever had under the hood is the SL63 which is just under 700.
I've read that with the right tuning, the V12 biturbo can get up to your mythical 800 mark with over 1,000 ft-lbs of torque
but honestly the 523 hp and 612 ft-lbs are more than enough. it's smooth as silk and never intrudes upon your automotive experience.

My VW bug had like 42 BHP. FWIW... I still got dates in HS. Prolly couldn't even get a second look from a female today, with 42 BHP.

I can see in some cases for instance someone who likes to drag race, they can buy something like a Hellcat and not have to trailer it to the track but it is a big temptation to stay out of the throttle when driving on the street and things happen very quickly at speed.
