A search of the VIN turned up an ad by Brooklyn Auto Sales for this car.

"2008 Honda S2000 CR 6-Speed MT
Offered by: Brooklyn Auto Sales — (347) 507-2791 — $68,999"
https://classiccarsbay.com/2008-hond...-trucks-740334
Based on the CarFax it looks like maybe the BaT seller purchased the car from the original owner who consigned it with Brooklyn Auto Sales.
The BaT seller sounds like a flipper who bought the car last December. Looks like he will turn a quick profit. I wonder if this ultimate driving Honda machine will ever get driven.

I got the email for this Porsche 959 and immediately jumped to the site to post a silly bid so I could later claim I got outbid.
As fast as I could get there the bid was already $1,000,000.
Who has that kind of money on tap at a whim? I mean I'd need a Powerball or something. You know it takes a while to list and sell a house.

BAT has had some killers lately. 2 Carrrera GTs a gullwing coupe and the 300sl convertible. a Porsche 918, MB 770K ( at a tidy little sum of $1,611,111 )
If this doesn't hit 2 mil I'll be shocked.

Why not. It's the very rare S2000 model, almost zero miles, mint condition, a car that is in high demand but out of production for enough years now that getting twice the sticker is not a big deal.

Amazing! And to think that some dealers had trouble selling them.

Very similar story with the MGA Twin Cam. Few made, serious engine issues, and therefore the rarest model. Today it is the top seller in the collector market.

I find it interesting how often the least practical version for those who want a great all around road car are the one's which end up as over valued garage queens.

This market is just nuts. Just noticed a Ferrari 328 that has been on a dealers website for awhile got a price adjustment of an increase of 15,900 dollars.
