Interesting article from the WaPo about Tesla's self-driving safety record: https://wapo.st/3Cs8k44
Personally, I would not trust any of these so-called self-driving cars and it worries me that there are people who, when using the feature, tend to relax and lose their involvement with driving.

I'm not seeing as many new Teslas driving around, like this time last year. It's noticeable. Makes me wonder about reliability, too.

I saw one doing close to 100 m.p.h. yesterday afternoon on a busy 2 lane highway with a speed limit of 50.
I’m seeing more and more of the Rivians on the road.

On the self driving stuff they need to enable Boston driver mode.
In stop and go, I want that car 6 inches off of the bumper in front of me.

I don't want any self-driving car anywhere near my family or me when we are on the road. I don't trust them. With so many people already killed they should have banned it until it is completely reliable, and I yes I know that is likely never possible.

I'm not sure where one can get hard reliable data on accident rates for self driving cars. But based on what I have heard, Tesla's Auto Pilot is not anywhere near safe without full driver attention at this point. I've read that Cadillac Super Cruise is a little better but it actively monitors driver attention.

Going forward, I don't need self driving cars to be perfectly safe. I just need them to be safer than human drivers before I will be comfortable sharing the road with them, and that's a pretty low bar.

Here is a Cool list of automobile rev limits in this article. I never heard of Murray's super car but nothing surprises me with anything he built. I was surprised the RX-8 revved to 9500, I always thought it was 9000 rpms. Those turbine cars are crazy, and the Atom is such a cool design.

A guy showed up at our car show this weekend with a last generation RX-7 which I never see any, and I forget what he said the redline was but it was up there maybe 8k. He said it made power starting at 2k. It was a factory twin turbo.

The S2000 and the GT3 are the only cars that aren't super exotics or really low production cars.
The GT3 is merely exotic but there are a lot around.

of course my Aprilia RSV4 revs to 14k making 217 hp @13,000 rpm. I haven't begun to explore those limits.

Just make sure you are ready if or when you explore the upper limits of the tach. When I had my FZ I went easy and broke it in for the first 600 miles and then when I got into the upper reaches of the power and it was a lot more than I expected. Just about pulled my arms out of their sockets.
