My SUV was losing air on left front tire. It was some kind of screw. I called around to find a repair place and it would cost me anywhere between $45-65 and couple of hours. I couldn't see myself waiting for 2 hours so I went to Home Depot and bought repair kit and plugged it myself but it seems to be losing air ever so slightly. We'll see if I have to take it to service.

Wow that is a lot to fix a leak. One time the Honda dealer found a screw in one of my S2000 tires and they charged me 15 bucks.

I hate it when one tire keeps losing air.

I guess you eventually will need to have the tire removed and plugged from the inside?

Two things in a vehicle you should not skimp on are the brakes and tires. Anything else can fail and its no big deal.

Maybe I'm wrong but I would think a complete failure of either would be very rare.

Discount Tires/America's Tires fixes flats for free. I've been there twice and didn't even buy my tires there.

I think you may be right on the newer cars but I had a tie rod go on my 82 capri and luckily it was in front on my house and after that I got in the habit of checking my cars for play in the front end every once in awhile.
