I'm considering buying a Porsche Cayenne diesel for general farm duties. I may be doing it wrong.

Yep, same 3.0 V6 TDi as Audi Q7s and VW Touaregs. The model I'm looking at (957) is 240hp and 406 of your American torques, would rather get a Touareg but they're hard to find with a rear diff lock and diesel. Due to every accountant and business manager in the cities wanting to own a truck it's far cheaper to buy used Euro SUVs here. We bought our late model Q7 for about the same as we would have paid for a similar-year Ford Ranger, and it's much quicker, safer, more comfortable, has a higher GCM rating, and can tow just as much.
