If you have about 30 minutes to spare I think you might be interested in this film about the Fisher Body division of GM back in the early 70's. I got a kick out of the white shirts, narrow ties and pocket protectors of the draftsmen and engineers they showed at work. Pretty sure I looked the same in my early engineering days in that time period.

Michigan could lose $95 million a year for road repairs as electric vehicles become more widespread, a report from East Lansing-based Anderson Economic Group found.
That’s because gas taxes largely fund road construction, and electric vehicle drivers currently pay no state or federal gas taxes. There is a $140 electric vehicle fee in Michigan – but that doesn’t offset the lost revenue from gas.

Have to give a shout out for my Auto Owners insurance costs. I got my umbrella insurance bill and miss read it. So I spent at least half an hour getting a quote from USAA. They now know more about me than my wife does. The quote for the Honda was just $50 more but they wanted more than double for the umbrella policy. I didn't bother getting their quote for home insurance.
For grins I contacted Grundy and filled out one of their app's. They would be able to cover everything including my Hagerty insurance which is coming due. TBD.

I had my NSX under Grundy. At that time, Hagerty was more restrictive on vehicle use than Grundy, but I think that has changed. Never had a claim so I don't know how their claim service was but otherwise they were easy to deal with. Coverage on the old Accord was through Hagerty and they were also easy.

I had JC Taylor for my first MG. When it was totaled a check for the full amount was at my house when I got out of the hospital.
But what I hated about them was the out-of-date renewal process paperwork they made you go through with every annual renewal, so I went with Hagerty. Hagerty is great to deal with. A couple local buddies with several cars in their collection are with Grundy and are happy too.

I’ve got the Honda with Grundy and 911 through Hagerty. Haven’t had a claim on either but their rates are far better than what I could get with traditional insurance. Michigans no fault law is painful for insurance.
