I hear you about buffets in general, Lainey. We don't much like eating out period, probably because we travel a lot and thus have little choice but to do so. But for us, a really good Chinese Buffet is still a treat.

Red Lobster is a gold mine here. I drive by it nearly every day and the parking lot is full from mid-afternoon every day of the week. We don't have your choices Lainey.
I know, Dave. I love living so close to the ocean and fresh seafood.....

When I really want some seafood cheap, I hang around the docks waiting for the fisherman to show up...

Red Lobster didn't make it in our area. I guess we have too many local seafood restaurants that do a better job.

Speaking of chain restaurants, I saw an article in the paper which mentioned how they are all working to get folks in with the two meals for $20.00 and the like... There are so many chain restaurants out there, the prediction is that they will not all survive.
i give props to Longhorn

went friday and dropped $75.00 on two steaks and a few Makers

first thing - no more cutting boards for the bread but the loafs are still only cut 1/2 though (what moron thought this was a good idea ) - so of course steak knife is used to cut bread in metal basket now the steak knives are as dull as Polk's posts

steaks come - i ordered a med rare Rib eye and jane orders a med prime rib - both under cooked but i know better than to send it back but again spoons would cut better the knifes

sent my first e-mail to a restaurant – got an e-mail back saying bread baskets are hear to stay – corp decision, no reason for dull knifes and sorry for the under cooked steaks – and a $75.00 gift card to try them again - I’ll give them one more shot

on the gift card. We should have complained after our last meal there. Rick's steak was terrible. We gave that chain two tries and they struck out both times.

Food advertisements don't intrigue me; most of the food they push is not on my menu plan. Red Lobster? Call it dead lobster. I feel most seafood chains are not much good although I do like the Naked Fish. I love a good Thai restaurant but don't remember seeing any ads for those. We have a couple of good ones in Tewksbury and it's a rare and wonderful treat to go out and have a great meal and some exotic cocktails.
