Jerry and I have made plans for our 10-day drive/trip and we have included a few of the routes in Colorado and Utah.

How about the page number in the book so we can see where you went?

Spokes Man and I did part of Historic Route 66 today on the way to the Grand Canyon, where we are right now. On page 274 the book mentions Historic Route 66 from Topock, Arizona to Glenrio, New Mexico. We did just 42 miles of it, from Topack, AZ at the Colorado River to Kingman, AZ, where we got back on I-40. At the bottom of page 276 is this description of the part we were on, although we did it in the reverse direction:

"Historic Route 66 continues as City Road 10 out of Kingman, twisting through tight switchbacks over 3,652-foot Sitgreaves Pass to the Western-themed town of Oatman, known for mock gunfights and semi-tame burros wandering the streets. You're in real desert now, as you wind down to meet I-40 and the Colorado River at Topack.

It was a blast on that road. It wasn't just switchbacks but the turns were all banked, too. It was a great diversion off of I-40. Oh, and we did see lots of donkeys in Oatman. Photos are still in the camera.

Tomorrow we'll do on leg of the San Juan Skyway on page 302 in the book, from Cortez to Durango. We'll end up driving most of that route over the next 9 days.
