Default 2006 Vintage Buckeye Run

The Spring Fling is June 9, 10, 11 and the Noreaster is August 11, 12, 13. We're at the beach in July and September. Fall Colors is typically in October. Any ideas? Should we skip this year?

Maybe we could just have the "Buckeye's go to Myrtle Beach" run in July. This is always a favorite and well-planned event, OR. Timing is dicey this year, though.

I was thinking of going to the Myrtle Beach Meet in July, but probably won't - just too much else going on. It would be nice to do something down there then, but hotels will be a big issue (as in no place to stay). The MB meet is limited to 50 cars (I think), so probably a no go for many Vintagers to show up.

^^ There is usually availability up on the north end or wayyyy down on the south end, but it'd be very pricey in July and there's so much traffic around the beach area itself that driving is not a lot of fun.

I suspect that even if we were in Ohio in July that people might be "maxed out" with SF in June and the Noreaster in August. How do people feel about early October for those not going to Fall Colors which this year is to be held on the moon?

It's not the moon, it's New Hampshire. It's a really pretty part of the USA, but it will be a very long haul for many.

It's the same reason we did not make the Buckeye last year, just too much time in the car, and not enough vacation time to do it all.

It sounds like early October would be the best time. Not many other choices this year, are there?

I'll give this thread another week and if there is no interest we'll officially bag it. Too bad, we have alot of fun hosting it.

October is great for me. We can celebrate my 35th birthday on the 6th. I enjoy the Buckeye more than any meet we've ever had. +1 loves it since Ohio is his birthplace.

They just get farther and farther away . I don't think there's ever been one that was closer to me than 300+ miles.
