2006 Lunar and Solar Eclipses
Here's the NASA website for info. Didn't realize there will be a total solar eclipse on Mar 29. Tonight's lunar eclipse won't be that impressive.

We were going to see that eclipse in Antalya, Turkey, but couldn't get away for long enough. We are eclipse chasers. We've seen total and annular solar eclipses in Montana, Cabo San Lucas, Catalina Island, Aruba, Munich, and Puerto Vallarta.
If you've never seen one, you have no idea what you're missing. Day becomes night; stars come out; the corona (the sun's atmosphere), Bailey's Beads (the last bit of the sun's light shining through the valleys and canyons on the surface of the moon just before totality), the diamond ring effect just before totality, and solar prominences (hydrogen flares) are incredible; the shadow of the moon races by at approximately 2,000 mph; the temperature drops suddenly about 20
