Hey all!
Thanks for a great time on my first S2k meet as an owner! It was good to see some familiar faces, as well as some new ones. I'm going to be very disappointed if this "surprise guest" was my granny and I missed out . Someone will have to fill me in. Thanks to Carm for organizing the event and leading the speedy pack; well done on both counts. Sorry I didn't post my thanks sooner, but Rocket didn't exactly make it home last night. Apparently there are "Room 314's" elsewhere in the state lol.
My trip odometer read 440 when I got home this morning. Thats a new personal record for miles driven in one day for me. My friends and family think I'm crazy, but like the saying goes, "From the outside looking in, you can't understand it. From the inside looking out, you can't explain it."
I'm going to post on behalf of our PreVint lurker AdamOSU (Adam and +1 April) and say they had a good time as well. Quit spectating and get in on this! It was a great experience for me and I look forward to the next one, thanks again guys.

-Rocket

P.S. - Patty, Val..I forgot that my computer crashed recently so I don't have access to a scanner. I've been working off a low-end laptop with very limited capabilities as of late. I promise I'll get those prom pics up ASAP, I'm just not sure how soon that'll be quite yet.

Sam.

it was a great event and a splendid time was had by all.

Patty already knows how I feel (refer to my previous post)

It was great to meet the people in your drive group (Psst: Thanks for planting the seed GX-2)

Sam: It is funny that you chose those words ""tail gunner" for Canberra. I assume that you know of his love of aviation?

Doug,

It was nice to finally meet you, after interacting with you on and off over the last year or so.

As you know, us Vintage folks agree that you seem to have a good head on your shoulders for a young man your age. I will not preach to you, as I seem to have no right to as your peer (when I was sixteen).

Although, I will offer this advice knowing that you are a very lucky young man to have a World Class Sports Car at your age. I would highly recommend that you attend a driving school that teaches "vehicle dynamics", as well as high performance driving technigues.

I have been fairly vocal over the years about the benefits (as I see it) to young drivers. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

Regards,
Matt_inVA

What a GREAT weekend! Carmen & Suzanne (and all your 'helpers')... it couldn't have been any nicer (hope your neighbors don't stop talking to you for too long ).

The whole vintage crowd is incredible (and our pre-vints ain't too shabby, either).

I've enjoyed all the 'drives' at the meets we've made, but 'Rt 26' has to be my favorite. Neat to know there still is THAT kind of a road, that runs for that many miles. Way cool!

Thanks to everyone who came, and everyone who made this such a fun weekend.

Pics will be forthcoming soon.

Matt,
Thanks for the kind words. It's funny that you should mention driving classes. I'm enroled in the Acura High Performance Class @ MidOhio for August 11th. If you want to know more, we can PM. I wanted all to know that Rocket was getting skooled in the art of driving, but I don't intend to hijack around here. All thanks to my parents for the opportunity, as the certificate for the class was my Christmas present last year. It is just a one day class, but I'm going in with a very open mind and hoping to learn more than the School of Trail and Error has taught me thusfar on the open road. As far as being lucky to have such a vehicle at this age..see sig, lol. I greatly appreciate the car, and I don't lose sight of the work I put into geting it, as well as the help that was given to me.

I am so happy to learn that your parents have the forsight to enroll you in such a "True Driving School".

You are a very lucky young man.

With that stated: As a two time attenedee of the Skip Barber Driving School. I have seen first hand on two different occassion (1994 and 2001) just how much young drivers progress in two days.

If I were a parent there would be NO DOUBT in my mind that it would be the best money that I could spend to help educate and protect my children.

In my opinon it is a shame to spend sixty thousand dollars or more in your children's education that can be wiped out in a second because they have never really learned a skill that that they will use all of their lives.

My apology for going off topic.

Hey, as Doug so kindly stated I am the "PreVint lurker."

Me and April had a very good time. Thanks for allowing us to come along. Hopefully we'll get to cruise with you all again sometime.

Adam
