Cheese grits is good, but I never thought to try grits with salt & pepper; I'll have to give that a go. For some reason red-eye gravy never would agree with me, much as I tried to get it to. I spent a TON of time in the Atlanta area years ago when I was a travelin' salesman, and I got quite accustomed to that good ole suth'n food.

I do wish we had a WaffleHouse up here...

I swear to Allah, it's Cream of Wheat. I defy anyone to tell the difference in a blind taste test. You can put all the salt, pepper and cheese you want on Cream of Wheat. It's still Cream of Wheat. Don't pick on me today. 72 hours ago I was enjoying a cold one on the beach and this morning I drove thru the mother of all snow storms to get to a couple appointments. "May the gods of large piles of dirt descend upon Lake's Erie, Michagan and Ontario with a vengence, Allah willing".

Aaaaaawh, poor baby! Now see, a nice plate of grits would warm you right up and make you feel better in all that cold and snow. (ducking for cover)

Carmen - There is a definite difference in consistency. Cream of wheat is much less coarse than grits. And the taste is different, too. One is wheat, the other is corn.

And you know you secretly like to be picked on...

What I tasted was very smooth. Perhaps someone was pulling a Cream of Wheat trick over on me!

Oh well, enough about grits...let's talk about oatmeal! I like it with just brown sugar on it - no milk.
