Thanks Bill for this in the other thread, to my question What's a Spugen?,
"It started as a word that meant a low cost, member developed mod for the S2000. Some think it started with the combination of a Spoon test tube (replaces the catalytic converter) and a Mugen exhaust (Sp-ugen).
Anyway, Duc and a couple of other So-Cal guys hung around this place called Anthony's Muffler Shop and started making their own exhaust systems with Magnaflow mufflers and mandrel-bent pipes. They made them for their own cars, then other local member's cars, and then they started selling them on this forum and called the company Spugen. It was a good quality, low cost system that actually made a little power over the stock system. Now they make lots of different systems and other things too. They are a sponsor of the board. Check out their site."
I might not have gone without your great explanation. But then ya got me more interested and I went down there after their drive, arriving at about 12:15PM. It was humid and warm but not hot. The best part was on the long street perpendicular to the BBQ, where most people parked their cars. A very long street of S2000s. They had somewhere around 134 cars. I finally saw a 2001 right behind a 2002 to really get a good look at the window size difference. Glass is nice but there is some missing. I met 4Motto after finding someone from Orange County who knew him. I saw Raptor and talked to his wife Anne Marie. I talked to some people I met at Raptors BBQ/drive back last June. 9Tach from San Diego, should join Vintage soon. I told them about it and they had no idea it existed. I bought $20 in raffle tickets. I didn't win the $2,300 titanium exhaust but I did win a very cool T-shirt with a stylized S2000 on the front and back. I was happy. It was fun and everyone was nice. I have pictures in my digital camera so I guess I'll have to finally learn how to get them off.
