I didn't have one for chess, never played that. I do still have one we bought over 10 years ago. You can play checkers or backgammon on it. We used to play backgammon every now and again, and we'd take on trips to the beach.

Latest guy friend plays chess and is going to teach me backgammon. We also might play cribbage. I grew up playing cribbage and still do at family gatherings. I think I'll start a thread on games...

Is that what the kids are calling it these days, Ms. Perky?

I haven't played chess in SO long. My best friend and I used to sit for hours in the activities room after school playing chess.

I think X Box and Nintendo have taken over the board games which is unfortunate. Board games tend to give folks more leisurely time to talk and engage in some meaningful conversations especially when you can get your kids to play but computer games are all senses on deck kind of endeavor. Promote board games!

OK...seeing new guy and things are going well, so I MAY bring him to Spring Fling. Don't everyone faint at once (especially Granny)!!! Haven't made up my mind 100% since I don't want to be torn between the event and him, but I think I can handle it OK. His name is Vito...Italian - what else?

Well, without Marco -- unless he changes his mind -- We'll need another to represent...

What about Anarky and him getting the last seat at dinner, Deb?

I went to the Dr. on Friday morning, after waking up two nights in a row gasping for air. Asthma. Feeling much better now with meds but I hate to inhale steroids twice a day. The Dr. said with all this rain and wild growth many people are having problems and coming in.

Went to Rincon Parkway in Ventura (the beach) Friday to Sunday. Have some photos of beach houses.

Hey Patty,

Sorry you weren't feeling well. I have asthma as well. Never had it until about 7 years ago. I take routine meds, and every cold now seems to really get to me causing problems with the asthma. I end up on additional meds. Just finishing up with an episode due to a cold now.

As things start to bloom, I often start to cough. Generally speaking, it's mild so I'm thankful for that.

Looking forward to meeting you and Andy in a couple of weeks!

Glad you are feeling better, Patty...I didn't realize you have asthma. It can be a drag, I know. As for the last person at the table Fri night at the Fling, I left them a message saying find another chair, that we will be 21. Should be no prob.
