Yep, that's me... . Upcoming empty-nest syndrome. My baby girl will be 18 in about 2 weeks and is working on her college choice and talking of moving out into a dorm. Waah! Then my son has started driving himself to school so I don't get to talk to him on the 20 minute drive there and back everyday, waah! What's a mom/housewife to do? I think I'll be looking for some part time work or volunteering soon. Also trying to figure out my dad's situation with Alzheimer's and his Trust situation, along with 2 step-relatives and a money hungry sister, before he totally loses it. Nothing big, like the stuff you're dealing with but it is getting me down, none the less.
I think we desperately need a Margarita Happy Hour after a day of shopping and beach time sometime soon! (OK, that's SUPPOSED to be a Margarita under the palms, though I suppose at this point a Martini and some whacky weed would do ok, too).

[QUOTE=rjosey8385,Jan 18 2005, 02:27 PM] Are the step-relatives (I know step-mom isn't much, but the other one) any help or just a hindrance?

That's a great photo. What a great looking family.

Thank you, uppity and Rob. We've used the same photographer about 4 years because he always does a good job with us. It helps when you know the person. Anyway, I just love that photo. We all look different than the one from 2003.
Uppity, what's your name? I think I saw it once but I don't remember.

Yeah, if the trust is already set up, meet with the administrator and find out how it's set up. At least you've got impartial input that way. Do you find yourself more sad thinking about your Dad dying or thinking about him living with Alzheimer's?
The family photo is beautiful - what a gorgeous picture. My husband and I didn't have kids together...we had a ready-made family of 6 when we married (although 3 of the kids lived with us at one point or another, not all 3 lived with us together...only 1 - mine - was full-time), so we were ready for the kids to leave the nest!

I'm freezing here! Spring, where are you? We need to be able to swap music on this site. I have been making CDs for all my friends. I buy them and they get copies (hey... I think I am getting the short end of this deal).
Rjosey, we were definately ready for the nest to be empty. I have a drove of stepchildren and grandchildren. Love them all, but glad to be just me and hubby again. FREEDOM!!
