Don't hit your brakes to slow down, just let up a little on the gas and let the car stabilize. Next time you go around that curve, you'll remember where your limits are (if you can remember where the curve is in the course......it took me a while to learn a road course - I don't do it very often).

The other side of the coin is understeer,
But WATCH OUT that you do not introduce (yourself) to TTO (Trailing Throttle Oversteer). TTO occurs when you change the vehicle dynamics via the weight distribution of your vehicle. It is not easy to explain here without the aid of a visual. But if you you carry too much speed under the throttle into the apex and then suddenly realize that you are in over your head and lift aburptley that unloads the rear suspension and shifts the weight onto the front tires suddenly giving them MORE bite which will induce oversteer. Which will cause in the way of the back end stepping out which if you catch it is OK but a slow way around the track and it you do not catch it in time will induce a spin.

The best definition that I have ever heard about the difference between oversteer and understeer was from NASCAR legend Fireball Roberts. When asked by a reporter what the difference was? He responded: Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car. Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the back of the car.

Next thing you know, I will be enrolled in a driving school somewhere. (sigh)
GrannyRod.

I believe strongly that any one that can afford it should go to a driving school like the Skip Barber School. It is $1200 that is well spent! As it could save your life! I am referring to the Driving School not the Racing School.

At FCT04 remember to ask Barbara about how that refresher saved us back on a Saturday night in February.

^ Good to hear, Val!! I'm starting to get enthusiastic now about Fall Colors. Doing the drive last weekend fired me up, and arranging the Mid-A caravan.

Glad to see you're all fired up now because you're going to have to host the pool party all by yourself if your co-hostess can't get in the water. It should be a wild time once again. It'll be interesting to see how many folks can fit in that little pool. At least I'll have Val there this time to help drown you for being in such good shape and looking so good in a swimsuit. Right Val?

I'm recovering from a touch of the flu and didn't want to risk catching a chill but maybe I'll be better by then. Don't worry, I'll be right there at poolside if you need me.

Don't be fooled TC, last time she was in the water, folks stopped what they were doing to come over. Ol' Miss Perk can hold her own without any help at'tol. Was funny to see her in panic mode for a bit, though. We're so sick. Did you calm down yet?

I hear folks are going to be waiting for your famous cannonball too. (I must choose my words more carefully these days with this sick crowd)
