That T1 may have been brought in to service other residences in the area (nearby condos). You'll get 1.5 mb/s download, I'm sure, but upload is 128 kb/s. If you pay extra for enhanced DSL, you can get up to 384 kb/s. It depends on the area, of course. I think some people can't get the full 1.5 mb/s download just because of their distance from the central offices and other silly factors.

Well, my condo has 499 units, and I believe the T1 services just the two buildings and the ISP customers here. We were able to get a fantastic monthly rate because a certain number signed up.

I have DSL here in WA thru Verizon. I have the "enhanced" version - 768 up & down. But, I'm not all that sure it's worth it. Lots of sites can't send or receive it that fast so why send the extra $$$? The pages do load quick though
