Yet another strange driveline noise thread
Greetings all.
A couple of months ago I had a shiny new SoS dual disk carbon clutch put into my S2000, and ever since then I am seemingly afflicted with the oft-mentioned clutch buzz noise. I understand that the SoS dual disk setup makes more noise when the clutch peddle is to the floor, and I'm fine with that but it also makes a huge amount of noise between 20 and 40mph in second and third gear. It's so bad at times I can hear the buzzing echoing off neighboring cars and buildings, and I can also feel it in my seat. Is this common for aftermarket clutch systems?
I have owned the car since March 2005 and this is the first time I have ever heard such a noise from it.
Here's a sample of what it sounds like tooling around town... I used my phone to record the clip so the quality sucks, but you can still get a good idea of what it sounds like in person with headphones.
Sound sample of noise.
So.... What do you think? Did the installer cock it up somehow?

This sounds identical to what I'm experiencing with my new ACT HDSS w/Prolite flywheel setup..
I've just concluded it was due to clutch buzz, but I'm glad you posted a sound clip. I'd almost say my sound is slightly worse
All the best with finding out a solution. I'm going to monitor this post!

i was having this sound on the OEM clutch ('01) and then replaced the clutch with a exedy base model clutch. sound is still there! According to the TSB, shouldn't replacing the entire clutch fix the noise?!? I guess not though...
