Yellow Box Installed=Check Engine Light??

We keep telling people not to install the Yellow Box this way precisely because it will trigger the CEL. But why do some of you insist on ignoring this advice??? I just don't get it. It should be installed the way Xviper recommends -- to the speed sensor leads on the side of the tranny.

Update- I installed the Yellow Box on Saturday. I installed it in the cabin under the dash per modifry and sideways instructions. I did not throw a cel. This way took about 20 min. including soldering and heat shrinking the connections. I don't know why some people got a cel. Thank you for everyone's help.

Hi guys,
I just had my yellow box installed by a proffesional and it works, but it doesn't seem to be doing anything. I have played with the switches like crazy and it shows the same speed.
Is there a trick to setting the switches?
I want it as low as possible. Which way do I have to set my switches?
Any help would be appreciated.

No, the installation was done correctly. It sees the signal as the light flickers according to the speed of the car.
It's just that the output is non adjusted. Or, at least it seems that way.

Just wanted to update everybody. As you can tell from the first page of this thread. I spent a lot of time with Jenner trying to figure out why the CEL came on when we followed his instructions. Well after giving it another try this weekend with Defender we've come to the following conclusion.
Modifry's instructions work. There is absolutely no need to crawl under the car. See picture below.
The proper place to cut the wire is in the blue harness directly under the ECU as can seen above. Not at the wires connected into the ECU. Here is where it gets tricky. All the instructions I've seen says to cut the blue/white wire. Well guess what? There are 2 wires that have that color combo in that bunch. So if you are cutting the wrong one you will get the CEL. I'll let Defender jump in here or check later on as to which one it was, since I forgot off the top of my head. There is only one solid yellow wire btw, it has silver dots on it on both our cars. But there are a few yellow/black wires. It works and it's simple so follow modifry's instructions and there shouldn't be any problems.
