In the above thread, Jenner and I had a little dialogue going. I tried it the way he said using the wire by the ECU. I threw a check engine light (CEL) everytime. It worked for Jenner's car but NOT on mine. I ended up going under the car and tapping directly into the speedo pulse wire. I tapped into the "hot with ignition" empty male tap on the fuse panel (there are 3 empty spade taps there). I tapped into the ground bolt near the fuse panel. The thing works perfectly now.
It is very cramp on that wiring bundle by the speedo sensor. You must unwrap as much of the electrical tape as possible so you can splice into it with more ease. When you're done and have confirmed that the wiring is correct, make sure you go back under and electrical tape those wires VERY well. It gets a lot of road crud thrown up there. I then ran the wires up into the engine bay and pushed them through a hole in the rubber wire bundle grommet just under the clutch fluid reservoir. The Yellow Box just sits behind the side kick panel where I can reach it for adjustment but once adjusted, you'll never need to change it until you change gears or tire diameters.
ps. To "s2000coupe", The Yellow Box is a speedo correction device when you put different rear end gears in your car.
