Yeah, I'm an idiot
So I dropped a new battery in my 06 because the old one wasn't holding a charge. I kept having to jump it each month (I don't drive it during the winter) so decided I might as well put a new one in now.
Anyway, I dropped a new one in and.....nothing. No dash lights and no clicking or buzzing when I push the start button. It's doing less than the bad battery I pulled out of there.
Is it a fuse? Does removing the battery trip some security device?
I haven't tried to jump it or do anything else. I bought it used (it's my 3rd S2K) and it didn't come with a manual. The connections are all clean and tight.
Thanks in advance for any help

If it's doing absolutely nothing, first thing is to check the main fuse (located in the fuse box under the hood).
The size battery that Honda generally uses (51) is also offered with reversed posts (51R). Attempting to install one without also reversing the wires will immediately blow the main fuse.

I don't know about reversed posts but I managed to get the red on pos.
Do you know which fuse might be subject to blowing? I just eyeballed them and didn't see any that appeared blown, but I didn't take them out to inspect closely.
I've been searching this site and google for a fuse diagram with no luck. I can try the dealership tomorrow.

thats really strange. swap the bad one back in and see if at least the dash lights work? Its very possible that you purchased a dead battery too.. (although, how rare that might be i dont know..)

I took the old one back, so I can't really try that.
This morning (I'm off work) I'll try:
!. Jump it
2. Check fuses again
3. Call dealership service and see if they have any other tropubleshooting ideas
4. Take battery back to be checked

A simple voltmeter costs $5
It's really difficult to troubleshoot electrical problems without a simple voltmeter - and it's pretty easy to do so with one. You will be able to tell instantly whether your battery is dead or not, then use it to track down where there is proper voltage and where there is nothing.
