So if any s2000 has all its lights off and flashes their brights the HID's and high beams come on??? I thought that was bad for them?
Yes. Bad for HIDs to go on and off. Why they come on when you flash while the lights are of (say to pass or to signal someone) I don't know. I think its a bad design IMO. But then again, me and Honda HID haven't been the same since my $800 plus repair/replacement.

Ok that's what I thought.... I had a BMW before this and when I would flash my brights only the brights would flash, never the xenon's. I asked the service manager and he said it was becuase they have to heat up. If you turn xenon's on and off quickly you can burn up(or something to that extent) and they'll glow a faint red. That's why I figured this would be no good.

i was just thinking, if the blue 'highbeam' indicator on the dash lights up, then that rules out the fuse option right?

is there a relay for the highbeam?

also, you mentioned you had a CAI installed. Check for loose wires that normally fasten to or around the stock airbox. Its possible that a wire may be rubbing and has been worn thru. This happend to my air sensor wire when i installed my SC. it was resting against the alternatior pulley and eventually wore thru, cause a short, thew a CEL and blew the ACG fuse.

The HID and the hi-beam work off the same relays (left and right), except that the hi-beams go through an additional diode in the light switch circuit. The hi-beam indicator light on the dash works in parallel with the left hi-beam.

Like Xviper said, buy the bulbs and try. I can tell you from personal experience I had BOTH high beam bulbs burn out at the same time on my other car. I couldn't believe it: I did some electrical checks (tested the continuity of a bulb) and confirmed it was the bulbs. Bought two new ones, and problem solved.

This is the first time in my driving career that this has happened, but it can happen...

There are was to check the bulbs without having to just go buy some. Look at the filament and tap the glass on it, if they are good then it shouldnt wiggle much. If they are bad the filament will be broken.
BTW, tapping on halogen glass is bad...mmmmkay? Even if you're careful, your chances of getting oils on the glass is high causing premature failure. So if your problem isn't the bulb, you may have just created a problem as well. If you want to check your bulbs without buying new ones, do what was recommended and check continuity. Just don't touch the glass.

And when I noticed that the HIDs flashed with the hi-beams, I quit flashing my lights at all unless they were already on. Even if you do it yourself (which requires removing the bumper), you're still looking at close to $200 for bulbs to fix the HIDs. And I don't know about the ballast, but I'd hate to have to replace that.
