If they put 5w20 in he engine imagine what they might have put in the diff

Change it out for a 70w90, 70w110 or of you track regularity 70w140 gl-5 diff oil

As I said in the OP, first thing I did was change the transmission and diff oils. It didn't change the noise at all.
What did you change it to? What are the specs?

Dr. Haas from Bobistheoilguy.com runs a 5w20 in his Ferrari Enzo which specs a 40 weight oil, if you understand motor oil you won't have any concerns with a 5w20 in daily driving conditions.
This is VERY interesting to me. My initial reaction would not be so casual to putting a lightweight oil in a high performance motor like this. If the oil is too thin at operating temperature, then theoretically it won't provide enough protection under stressful conditions (redline, etc). Putzing around town at 3000rpm and you're probably fine with 5W-20, but redline jaunts at your local racetrack in 100F weather? Uhhh, I don't know. I wouldn't be so quick to write this mistake off as being harmless given that you don't know the usage of the car.

Is the sound (can't watch vid) the air intake? It just so happens that many OEM and aftermarket intakes make a high pitch sound when accelerating, especially between 2500-3500 RPMs.

It's possible... though I would expect the pitch to change as the revs climbed? Also, it really sounds like its coming from behind me, though that could be an illusion.
