The "Wright" tool for the job
http://www.wrighttool.com/
This is not a well-known company, but there are several of their products that I just love. Let me recommend one of them.
They make extensions that have a locking mechanism, that once it is adjusted and you connect your socket, it will not pull off until you manually pull back on the collar. This is great for things like doing spark plug changes, since you can put on the socket for the spark plug, place it down in even the deepest head "well", and never have to hassle with the socket pulling off of the extension.
I recommend buying several lengths, since you can connect them up in series for the desired length needed, and each connection too will be locked".
They also make a great stubby 3/8" dfrive. Quality is top-notch.
They do sell direct, but my advice is to find a local distrbutor (usually a small one-man operation) and you can get a discounted price.
