Default Would this cause a over rev?

let a friend drive my Supercharged car and he went from 55ish in forth down to 2nd gear and floored it.. next thing i know it was bouncing off rev limit.. Could this have over rev'ed my engine? Its a 2000 with about 20k miles supercharged at 15psi.

Car seemed to run fine the rest of the way home

Thanks

to answer your question.. yes that caused your revs to bounce... 4 to 2 + SC do that.. since the SC will kick in hard make your car accelerate like a boss..

in short words.. when you down shifted from 4 to 2 your revs got almost to your redline...

No your fine. You can't over rev when in the gear and hit rev limiter. That's what it's there for. Don't let him drive it again though haha.
