found someone with a borescope gonna check it out today or tomorrow. if there is no visible scoring on the cylinder walls, is there anywhere else I should look with it?

Then it would be valve related, either bent valve, sticky valve not seating properly, or a damaged valve seat not allowing it to seal properly. A leak down test should tell you if its piston/walls related or top end/valve related by where the air is escaping. If air is escaping from the front valve cover breather or pvc then its pistons, if it’s coming out of either the intake or exhaust ports, or both, then its valve related. So after the bore scope inspection, the leak down test would be next to pinpoint the issue if there is nothing readily obvious on the scope inspection.

* OEM sleeve F24C performance build includes inlinePRO piston set,InlinePRO F24C connecting rods, New modified OEM K24 crankshaft, ACL racebearings, disassemble, hot tank, resurface block, bore and hone FRM sleeves, micropolish crankshaft, gap rings, measure bearing clearance, balance, blueprint, and assembly. $3595 (you must provide core shortblock)
would this service from inlinepro fix my scratched cylinder wall problem? I feel this would be a better way to go about it then buying a replacement used engine.

Have you determined it's a scored cylinder wall?
