Default Wont start when engine is hot?

Hey Guys, I recently bought a 99 white s2000, i have changed a few things like oil, plugs, timing chain tensioner, and removed an apexi neo that was wired in really wrong, the car is still not running right. there is no vtec!! it drives but very low on power, when i pull up to traffic lights its nearly cuts out and when i get back to the house after a little drive when engine is hot, turn off engine and it just cranks for about 10 seconds and then starts , sometimes it doesn't even start??? I have no clue what to do?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

the mods on the car are
Full Mugen Exhaust System
Spoon ECU
Bilstein Coilovers
and strut bars and stuff.

I disconnected a Defi controller and apexi neo that was plugged in because they weren't working properly, the apexi says i was doing 240kms when i was rolling in my garden at about 2-3km?????
the defi was just beeping constantly!?
I would really appreciate any help????

Did you have to re connect any wires on the ecu or was the apex'i unit plug and play? IF someone hacked the apex'i unit into the factory harness id be looking there to make sure all the wires are connected properly..

Yes it was hardwired into the ECU , i wired it back up correctly , ill check again but I'm pretty sure it is all ok.
What else would cause it to run like this?

Unfortunately my gut is telling me that the compression test isn't going to come back good

Any indication that the car has ever been overreved?

I have no idea if the car has been over revved before? Why do you think the comp test isn't gonna be good??

Everything your describing sounds like my civic when I bent a valve, maybe I am wrong though. No VTEC and a CEL @ 6k could also point to and oil pressure issue

i agree with bgoetz. sounds engine issues and i would recommend a leak down test. also, have you changed out your ecu to a stock one from the spoon?
