Yea the circumstance is unfortunate. I just want my car to run reliably as it has been.
Complications happen and I very much do agree that some things could have been better but I appreciate that he has been open to suggestion and that he is doing everything he can to get the problems solved. As long as this situation is well taken care of and appropriately I'll be happy.
I sent him an email regarding changing all ten cam caps. He installed some spoon rigid collars and they will do an alignment and the car should be finished.
When I stopped by the shop I took the Ap1 retainers that were removed. No cracks at all which I was hoping there would be at least something to mentally/personally justify doing this. I am the second owner of this s2k so I wasn't sure if it had ever been mechanically over-revved. I track the car a few times a year and autocross and didn't want any surprises. He did say that the motor looked very good and he didn't see any abuse or visible wear for that matter so that is good.
Thanks again for the views and responses.

So then the rocker arm holders are the bottom halfs and the top and bottom halfs are line bored which is why they're a matched set?
