Won't go into fifth!!
About a month ago I was going through the gears (not even v-tec) , and when I got to fifth it wouldn't go all the way in. Not only that but it hung up in the gate until you fiddled with it for a while.
I took it into John Elway Honda and thought they would have to pull the transmission and replace some parts.
They said the problem was a seal on the linkage that let condensation in and caused the problem. They replaced the seal regreased the linkage and everything worked fine.
Today I was again going through the gears and the same thing happened.
I haven't been through any rain, snow, car wash, any moisture at all since the last service.
Has anyone had the same problem?

I think replacing the seal and greasing everything only helped to alleviate another existing problem. I think they should have taken a closer look at the 5th gear shift piece and shift fork. One or both of these may be damaged or out of alignment. Too bad because they'll have to pull the tranny again to get at these.

It's been acting strange all along. Not long after I got the car I could smell burning clutch just going up the driveway.(not doing anything unusual) It went away and has been fine up until about 2months ago.
I was going to make a left turn, gave it a little more gas to start and let loose of the clutch. It started spinning and burning on me. It did it a couple more times in the same fashion. When I am V-tecing and shifting hard into the next gear it seems to work fine.
I've been driving clutches all my life and have'nt had a problem like that.

BTW, when you go for 5th, does it grind or just not make it past the detents?

It gets in just enough to stay in for a moment, then drops out. Sometimes it will just grind.

Sounds like more than just your shift linkage. If it was your shift linkage (or shift fork) you'd have trouble with fifth and sixth gears. Your fifth/sixth synchro may be worn... The hub, or blocker ring... Iunno.
Generally, a bad shift linkage/fork will affect both gears on that cluster, but if it's just popping out of 5th, it may just be the shift linkage is out of alignment, as Dave suggested. Hopefully that's the case.
